De demain à Delvaux - Exposition à Liège au Grand Curtius du 21/03 au 28/06/2009

Destinations Delvaux
From November 2008 to September 2009,

The opening of the Grand Curtius art and history museum (www.grandcurtiusliege.be) and the imminent inauguration of Liege’s new high-speed train station, designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava (www.euro-liege-tgv.be) : two highlights that the city of Liege is keen to showcase in a huge programme of events being organised from November 2008 until the summer of 2009. The events will involve several representatives of a vibrant culture: artists, galleries, writers, students, musicians and private citizens all referred to under the general name of “Destinations Delvaux“.

Highlight of DESTINATIONS DELVAUX, the “DE DEMAIN A DELVAUX” exhibition is a superb way of inaugurating the Grand Curtius temporary exhibition rooms : nigh-on half of the works on display are on loan from private collections!

Offering a foretaste of the imminent opening of Liege’s high-speed train station, the exhibition turns a spotlight on the major works that earned Paul Delvaux the reputation of being a ‘painter of stations’.
